The National Construction College is an accredited training provider of the Construction Industry Scaffolder’s Record Scheme (CISRS) and offers support on each component part.

How to get a Scaffolders Labourer (Green) Card

  • CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS)
  • Health, safety and environment test (HS&E test)

How to get a Trainee Scaffolder (Red) Card

  • Scaffolding Part One - Tube and Fitting or System Scaffold
  • Health, safety and environment test (HS&E test)

How to get a Basic Scaffolder (Blue) Card (in the order below)

  • 6 months site experience after completing your Scaffolding Part One
  • Scaffolding Part Two - Tube and Fitting or System Scaffold
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Site Diary for Assessment
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Assessed and Internally Verified
  • 6 months site experience
  • 1 day CISRS Practical Skills Match
How to get an Advanced Scaffolder (Gold) Card (in the order below)
  • To have held a Basic Scaffolder (Blue) Card for 12 months before applying for the Gold Card
  • Advanced Scaffolder course
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Site Diary for Assessment
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Assessed and Internally Verified
  • 6 months site experience
  • 2 day Advanced Level 3 CISRS Practical Skills Assessment/Match

Open Course - These courses are held at our training centres on set dates and will be attended by a mix of people from different companies.

Closed Course - These courses are available to your employees only, and held at sites of your choice. Dates and times are to be agreed.
