The digital – individual eBook version of the HSA workbook is designed for people who are new to the construction industry. It provides basic health, safety and environment steps that you and your employer at the site or project that you are working on should be following. This is the official publication for CITB's Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) one-day course. It is a mandatory course publication – every delegate must have their own copy for the duration of the course.

At the beginning of each chapter there is a summary of what to expect at your site and from your employer and what is expected of you. Clear illustrations are included as well as practical guidance for construction workers, and also includes embedded, mandatory exercises that must be completed during the course.

Minimum PC system requirements for the Windows viewer:

Operating system: Windows 10 or 11 (not Windows RT or S)

Processor: Pentium (2009) / Core i3 2 GHz or equivalent

Memory: 2 GB

Disk space: At least 10 GB free recommended

Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or greater

Graphics: Any Direct3D 9 compatible, 128 MB

Internet: Broadband internet connection required for installation, updates, web media and links.

Other: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. Adobe Reader and Microsoft PowerPoint required to view some content.

The subscription content can be viewed online in a web browser or in a dedicated viewer app for one of the following platforms:

• Windows

• macOS

• iOS

• Android

The individual eBook versions provide a 12-month subscription to the digital content of the Construction Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) publication and include any updates during this time. Once the subscription has expired, the content can still be retained on the devices on which it has been installed until it is deleted, but no further updates will be applied without renewing the subscription. 

The reader software for the subscription can be installed on up to 3 different devices during the subscription period and compatible platforms include iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS. Once it has been installed, the content can be viewed offline.
